With the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” for International Day of Yoga 2026, the Ministry of Ayush conducted a live online yoga session and a Guinness World Record attempt to encourage year-round yoga practice and healthy living. Union Minister of State for Ayush Prataprao Jadhav, along with officials, yoga practitioners, students, and citizens nationwide, participated in the online session in preparation for the annual International Day of Yoga on June 21.
During the program, Jadhav expressed gratitude to all participants who joined the initiative through the digital platform, including colleagues, Chief Ministers, yoga practitioners, students, teachers, and families across India and globally. The online session was part of a nationwide Guinness World Record attempt to promote public engagement in yoga and advocate for its regular incorporation into daily life.
Emphasizing the focus on wellness and active ageing through yoga, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush Rajesh Kotecha highlighted that this year’s International Yoga Day theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” aligns with the government’s goal. The ministry’s initiative, Yoga 365, aims to establish a Guinness World Record by encouraging year-round yoga practice, promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and overall health for individuals of all age groups.
In preparation for International Day of Yoga 2026, the Ministry of Ayush has been actively engaging in awareness campaigns and outreach activities, focusing on healthy ageing, preventive healthcare, and holistic wellness through regular yoga practice.
