Multinational joint military Exercise ‘PRAGATI 2026’ in Umroi, Meghalaya, involving over 400 military personnel from 12 nations, is intensifying training and interoperability exercises. The exercise, promoting regional peace and collective security, focuses on equality, friendship, and mutual respect. Integrated mixed teams from all nations are training in challenging terrains to enhance operational coordination.

One key aspect of the exercise is the formation of mixed teams from participating countries training together. These teams are engaging in collective training in semi-mountainous and jungle terrains to enhance professional understanding and operational coordination. Specialized military drills and tactical exercises are being conducted to boost combat readiness and mission coordination in tough environments.

Participating contingents have been involved in various military drills and exercises to enhance combat preparedness. Training modules include rock craft, ambush drills, slithering operations, and jungle lane shooting. Competitive events like sniper firing competitions and AK-203 rifle shooting aim to improve marksmanship and operational confidence among soldiers. The exercise also emphasizes camaraderie and military bonding through sporting and recreational activities.

Exercise PRAGATI 2026 is not just about operational training but also focuses on building camaraderie among troops. Soldiers from different nations are engaging in sports and recreational activities like basketball, volleyball, and tug of war competitions. These informal interactions are crucial in fostering trust, teamwork, and long-term professional relationships among armed forces personnel. The exercise aims to enhance military cooperation and readiness to address regional security challenges collectively.

The multinational exercise underscores the commitment of participating nations to peace, stability, and cooperation through joint training and defense engagement. It is seen as a significant step in fostering enduring strategic partnerships and strengthening defense diplomacy in the region. Exercise PRAGATI 2026 is expected to deepen military-to-military cooperation and enhance readiness to tackle shared security challenges.
