Mumbai Port Authority celebrated its 154th Foundation Day by unveiling 63 projects valued at Rs 5,028.17 crore across three phases. These projects include inaugurations, foundation-stone layings, and announcements, as per the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. The port, with a rich legacy, is focusing on cruise tourism, waterfront development, and green practices for the future.
Senior officials highlighted the port’s record cargo throughput of 70 million tonnes and stressed the significance of collaboration for growth and service excellence. Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal commended the port’s contributions to Mumbai’s status as India’s financial hub. He acknowledged the collective effort of various stakeholders in the port’s success.
