With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaching, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will officially start its campaign with a rally featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Madurantakam on January 23. The announcement was made by Nainar Nagenthran, BJP state president and legislative party leader, indicating the NDA’s intention to challenge the ruling DMK aggressively.
Nagenthran stated that Prime Minister Modi will address a large public gathering in the afternoon on January 23, marking the commencement of the NDA’s electoral campaign in the State. He emphasized that the rally aims to highlight the shortcomings of the current DMK government in Tamil Nadu.
Responding to inquiries about the final list of NDA alliance partners, Nagenthran refrained from naming specific parties or leaders but hinted at a display of unity during the Madurantakam rally. He assured that all leaders would have a presence on the stage during the Prime Minister’s visit, scheduled for January 23.
Defending the AIADMK’s manifesto proposals amidst allegations of copied promises, Nagenthran cited the party’s commitment to increasing monthly assistance for women from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000. He emphasized that despite similarities with existing schemes, significant positive changes are anticipated in public perception.
