NDMC Chairman Keshav Chandra opted for Delhi Metro as his mode of transport to the Palika Kendra office, urging employees and citizens to embrace eco-friendly commuting, aligning with PM Narendra Modi’s fuel-saving initiative. Accompanied by colleagues, he utilized the Metro and an electric auto for his commute.

Upon arrival, Chandra conducted the weekly Senior Officers Meeting virtually, emphasizing digital platforms to reduce travel and fuel consumption. This move reflects NDMC’s dedication to fostering sustainable practices and promoting public transport usage among officials and the public.

The Chairman’s objective is to drive a transition towards sustainable urban mobility and efficient resource utilization. Inspired by PM Modi’s nationwide call for fuel conservation and sustainable transportation, NDMC has initiated various green mobility projects in New Delhi, the heart of the capital.

NDMC has introduced a 50% parking fee discount for Electric Vehicles at designated sites and launched an EV Auto service between Palika Kendra and nearby Metro Stations and SBS Gole Market. Additionally, a Bus Shuttle Service now connects NDMC housing complexes to Palika Kendra, enhancing public transport accessibility for employees and residents.

Chandra affirmed NDMC’s commitment to realizing the vision of a “Green India” and “Sustainable Urban Development,” striving to transform New Delhi into a cleaner, greener, and environmentally sustainable city.
