The NEET retest for undergraduate medical admissions in Tamil Nadu wrapped up smoothly, with students highlighting Physics as the most challenging section. Around 1.42 lakh candidates took the exam under tight security measures post the cancellation of the initial NEET due to question paper leakage. The retest, held across 551 cities in nearly 5,500 centers nationwide, ended at 5.15 p.m.
Students found the paper less tough than anticipated, though not entirely easy, with Physics demanding more time and focus due to analytical and numerical problems. Chemistry had a mix of conceptual and application-based questions, while Biology was seen as more scoring. Candidates compared the retest to the canceled exam, noting the former’s increased difficulty, especially in Physics.
Many students appreciated the extra 15 minutes given for the exam, aiding in answer review and time management. Despite this, a significant number of candidates finished early, observed by officials and parents outside centers. The examination proceeded peacefully in Tamil Nadu without major disruptions, with strict security and surveillance measures in place to maintain test integrity.
Following the retest’s conclusion, candidates now await the provisional answer key release and further instructions from the National Testing Agency (NTA) on result evaluation and declaration.
