Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat announced the completion of the long-awaited new airport terminal in Jodhpur, which has been awaited for over three and a half decades. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the facility on July 4.
Shekhawat highlighted that Jodhpur Airport serves as a crucial air connectivity hub for western Rajasthan, beyond just being an airport for the city. He emphasized that India’s economic growth under Prime Minister Modi has significantly increased air travel, making it accessible to more people.
The Minister expressed that the existing terminal faced pressure due to rising demand, necessitating the construction of a modern facility. He mentioned that the technical approval process for the new terminal is nearing completion, with an inspection committee currently on-site.
Anticipating a smoother and enhanced air travel experience for the region, Shekhawat stated that the new terminal, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, will benefit the people of Jodhpur and western Rajasthan. Besides addressing aviation needs, the terminal is expected to boost tourism, trade, and investment in the region.
