Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President of India CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office and secrecy to two newly elected members at the Parliament House. Mansoor Ali Khan, representing Karnataka, and Rajnish Kumar Agrawal, representing Madhya Pradesh, took their oaths in English and Hindi, respectively. Following the oath ceremony, both members are now eligible to participate in Rajya Sabha proceedings.
The newly sworn-in members belong to different political parties. Mansoor Ali Khan is from the Congress party in Karnataka, while Rajnish Kumar Agrawal is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Madhya Pradesh. Senior dignitaries, including Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs L. Murugan, were present at the ceremony along with other officials.
After taking their oaths, both members vowed to fulfill their parliamentary duties with dedication. This ceremony follows a series of oath administrations to newly elected Rajya Sabha members, including individuals from various states such as Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Manipur. The swearing-in event signifies the formal induction of these members into the Upper House.
