Ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination on June 21, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has instructed medical colleges to be vigilant and not grant leave to students, except in exceptional cases, in the next two days. The NMC has also prohibited medical students from engaging in any activities that could compromise the examination’s integrity.
The NMC highlighted previous instances where medical college students were involved in actions that could jeopardize the examination process. To prevent such incidents and ensure fair conduct, all medical colleges have been directed to sensitize students against any behavior that could disrupt the examination process.
In a preventive move, medical colleges have been instructed not to allow student leaves on June 20 and 21, except under exceptional circumstances and with valid justifications. This measure aims to deter potential misconduct and uphold the examination’s fairness, as stated by the NMC.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stressed the importance of upholding integrity, transparency, and efficiency in the NEET-UG re-examination. He urged authorities to maintain vigilance and ensure necessary measures for a free and fair re-examination. Coordination at all levels was emphasized, with designated officers from the Union Ministry coordinating activities across states for the re-examination process.
