A one-day awareness program for traditional artisans and craftsmen took place in Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur district under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. Held at the Lalbagh Higher Secondary School, the event aimed to link artisans with modern technology, digital business, and new self-employment opportunities. Organized jointly by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), the Union government, and the district administration, the event saw the participation of numerous scheme beneficiaries and local artisans.
Several beneficiaries at the event were provided with information on the benefits offered by the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, including bank loans, toolkits, skill training, digital payment facilities, and self-employment opportunities. Additionally, some beneficiaries received toolkits and loan sanctions during the program. Artisans were also trained on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance product design, packaging, branding, and digital marketing. The event also covered topics such as e-commerce, entrepreneurship, exports, financial assistance, and various government schemes.
Managing Director Vinod highlighted the importance of the training provided to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana in equipping them with modern technology. He mentioned that over 3,200 individuals have been trained at the Burhanpur center, nearing the target of 3,300 trainees. The center has been successful in meeting most of its objectives and ranks first in Madhya Pradesh. Women beneficiaries shared their positive experiences, with one beneficiary, Jyoti, expressing gratitude for the financial assistance and loan she received under the scheme, enabling her to grow her business.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, beneficiary Seema Chaudhary mentioned receiving essential guidance and training, leading to self-reliance. She credited the scheme for providing traditional artisans with a new identity and opportunities for progress and success, expressing appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative.
