Opposition leaders have strongly criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for questioning the silence of the Samajwadi Party and Congress regarding the alleged illegal sale of Waqf land. Adityanath has faced backlash over his comments on the theft of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, with the BJP defending itself against allegations of hurting Hindu sentiments.
The Chief Minister initiated an SIT probe into the donation theft issue but continued to accuse opposition parties of disrespecting Hindu beliefs and engaging in minority appeasement. During an event in Pratapgarh, Adityanath highlighted the opposition’s silence on Waqf property issues while targeting the BJP over Ayodhya developments.
In response to Adityanath’s statements, Samajwadi Party MP Pushpendra Saroj urged the Chief Minister to refrain from making unfounded accusations and present evidence if available. Congress MP Tariq Anwar criticized Adityanath’s remarks, emphasizing the need to respect judicial processes and questioning the BJP’s sincerity towards Lord Ram.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant raised concerns about Adityanath’s divisive politics, urging a focus on pressing issues like unemployment and public welfare instead of perpetuating social rifts. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi condemned the BJP’s whataboutery tactics, highlighting the need for responsible governance. Congress leader Hussain Dalwai accused the ruling party of misusing temple funds and engaging in unethical practices.
