Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration wing at New Islamabad International Airport is under scrutiny for allegedly offloading two passengers from international flights despite having valid travel documents and visas. The affected passengers have complained about the lack of proper handling by both junior-level immigration staff and senior administrative officers. One passenger, Shehzad Gondal, recorded a video at the airport, claiming he was offloaded despite holding a valid South African visa and all necessary travel arrangements.
The passengers accused FIA immigration officials of providing inadequate explanations and subjecting them to humiliating treatment. Another passenger, a businessman named Abrar, was also denied boarding at Lahore airport due to objections raised by immigration staff over a social media video on his phone. Despite offering to verify the content, Abrar was not allowed to board the flight and faced difficulties in obtaining a refund for his ticket.
These incidents have raised concerns about the handling of passengers by FIA immigration officials and the decision-making process regarding offloading individuals with valid travel documents. The affected passengers have highlighted the need for more transparency and accountability in such situations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
