Pakistan’s captain Salman Ali Agha has confirmed that he will be batting at No. 3 during the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Ali Agha, who usually batted later in the top six, moved up to the No. 3 position to provide a more attacking option for his team.

In the first T20I against Australia, Ali Agha showcased good form at No. 3, scoring a quick 39 runs. This move comes as Pakistan gears up for the T20 World Cup, expecting to face spin challenges, where Ali Agha believes he can dominate during the Powerplay.

Ali Agha’s promotion in the batting order implies a likely change in role for Babar Azam, who managed 24 runs at No. 4 in the match against Australia. Pakistan emerged victorious in the first T20I, defending their 168-run total at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Pakistan’s spin bowlers played a crucial role in restricting Australia, who fell short by 22 runs in their run chase. Looking ahead, the series will continue with the second and third matches scheduled for the weekend.
