Skipper Pat Cummins expressed his eagerness to make a comeback for Sunrisers Hyderabad after recovering from a back injury. The team is gearing up to take on Rajasthan Royals in their eighth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday.
Cummins, in a video released by SRH, mentioned feeling excited and eager to get back on the field after watching a lot of cricket from the sidelines. He also praised stand-in captain Ishan Kishan for his leadership in the previous seven matches.
The Australian Test captain commended the young bowling attack of SRH for their exceptional performance in the IPL. Cummins highlighted the challenges fast bowlers face in the tournament and lauded the team’s bowlers for adapting well and showcasing their skills effectively.
Cummins, who returned to India before the season began but missed playing due to his injury, has been cleared fit for the upcoming match against Rajasthan Royals. He is set to resume his captaincy duties, taking over from Ishan Kishan, who led SRH to four victories in seven matches, placing them at number four on the points table.
