Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dutch counterpart Dick Schoof emphasized the importance of India and the Netherlands collaborating to maximize the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for societal transformation. The leaders met during the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, where a Dutch delegation, led by Schoof, participated.
PM Modi shared that the Netherlands has made significant advancements in the digital and AI realms, expressing intentions for bilateral cooperation in areas such as semiconductors, water projects, green hydrogen, talent mobility, and counterterrorism. The two Prime Ministers also discussed the need to enhance ties in emerging technologies like AI, quantum, and semiconductors to harness AI’s full potential for societal progress.
Acknowledging the transformative impact of AI on society, both leaders highlighted the necessity for India and the Netherlands to collaborate in realizing AI’s full potential for social transformation. They also reviewed the progress in the bilateral relationship, affirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation in various sectors such as water, agriculture, health, clean energy, defense, security, education, and trade.
Both leaders exchanged perspectives on global issues and reiterated their dedication to working together on international platforms to address global challenges. Prime Minister Modi emphasized India’s stance on the Ukraine conflict, advocating for its prompt resolution. Additionally, both leaders pledged to enhance the global fight against terrorism, underscoring their joint commitment to combatting this common threat.
