Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the significance of sectors like education, health, tourism, skills, sports, and culture in fulfilling public expectations during a post-Budget webinar titled ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas – Fulfilling Aspirations of People’. He stressed the need for focused discussions and policy attention on these sectors as they play crucial roles in realizing public aspirations. PM Modi specifically mentioned the importance of education, skills, health, tourism, sports, and culture as mediums through which public aspirations are expressed.
India is progressing towards a comprehensive approach to healthcare, focusing on preventive and holistic health, as stated by the Prime Minister. He underlined the country’s efforts in strengthening its health infrastructure, establishing numerous medical colleges in various districts, and enhancing access to healthcare services through initiatives like the Ayushman Bharat scheme and Arogya Mandirs. PM Modi also noted the increasing global popularity of practices like yoga and Ayurveda.
In his address, PM Modi highlighted the emerging care economy sector, emphasizing the potential for significant employment opportunities due to demographic changes and the growing demand for caregivers globally. He pointed out the rise in the senior citizen population and the increasing need for caregivers, leading to new skill-based job prospects in the health sector for the youth. The Prime Minister encouraged experts to contribute ideas for enhancing the training ecosystem, especially in the health sector.
Telemedicine’s role in improving healthcare access for remote areas was also discussed by PM Modi, who called for further expansion of its potential. He acknowledged the changing mindset of Indian youth towards innovation and new opportunities, emphasizing the need to upgrade the education system to align with the evolving economy. PM Modi highlighted the importance of empowering young people and providing them with opportunities to realize their full potential.
Regarding sports development, PM Modi mentioned the government’s efforts to enhance sports infrastructure across the country in preparation for upcoming international events like the Commonwealth Games and Olympics. He stressed the importance of identifying and nurturing young athletes to elevate India’s performance in global competitions.
