Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow over the tragic shooting incident at a school in British Columbia, Canada. He extended heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and wished a quick recovery to the injured. PM Modi stood in solidarity with the people of Canada during this time of deep sorrow.

In response to the shooting that resulted in nine fatalities, including the shooter who allegedly committed suicide, Chief Superintendent Ken Floyd of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police provided details. The incident took place in a mining town in British Columbia, with seven individuals found dead at a local high school and two others at a nearby residence.

During a virtual news conference, Chief Superintendent Floyd confirmed the discovery of the deceased shooter at the school. He mentioned that approximately 100 staff and students from the school were safe and had been evacuated to safety.

Authorities indicated that the shooter appeared to be a woman or someone dressed in female attire. While maintaining privacy due to the ongoing investigation, Chief Superintendent Floyd refrained from disclosing the shooter’s identity as a student or an adult. However, he confirmed that the individual matched the description provided in an active shooter alert sent to local phones.
