Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the World Yogasana Championship as a blend of health and wellness, coinciding with the upcoming International Yoga Day. More than 400 athletes from 60 countries are participating in this inaugural global Yogasana competition.

The championship, running from June 4 to 8, aims to elevate Yogasana from a traditional wellness activity to a structured international sport. By combining the health benefits of yoga with competitive standards, the event seeks to unite athletes, coaches, and judges globally.
