Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Seychelles President Patrick Herminie held talks at Hyderabad House in New Delhi. The leaders discussed various bilateral issues during the delegation-level meeting. Earlier, Herminie paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat during his State visit to India.
The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, mentioned in a post on X about Herminie’s homage to Mahatma Gandhi. The post highlighted the enduring principles of Gandhiji that continue to inspire the partnership between India and Seychelles. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also met Herminie and appreciated his support for Vision MAHASAGAR, focusing on economic prosperity and security in the region.
President Herminie arrived in New Delhi after concluding engagements in Chennai and Mumbai. He received a ceremonial welcome at the airport, emphasizing the importance of Seychelles as a maritime neighbor and a key partner in India’s Vision MAHASAGAR. The visit aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two nations.
Seychelles President Herminie’s State visit included meetings with various Indian leaders, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Discussions between Herminie and Fadnavis centered on port-led development, coastal management, and opportunities for collaboration between Maharashtra and Seychelles. The visit also marked the 50th year of independence celebrations for Seychelles and the diplomatic relations between India and Seychelles.
