Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the Parakram Diwas event in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands via video link, commemorating Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary. He emphasized Netaji’s influence as a symbol of courage and a visionary leader for a modern India. PM Modi highlighted initiatives like museums, statues, and awards dedicated to Netaji, aiming to inspire the youth with his principles.

PM Modi stressed the importance of strength for national progress, citing India’s growing self-reliance and defense capabilities. He mentioned the country’s shift towards exports and indigenous missile development, emphasizing the unity of 1.4 billion Indians in pursuing self-reliance. The Prime Minister also acknowledged a series of upcoming national events, establishing a tradition to honor the spirit of the Republic.

Reflecting on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ historical significance, PM Modi praised the region’s legacy of heroism and sacrifice. He underscored the islands’ association with freedom fighters like Veer Savarkar and Netaji, symbolizing the enduring spirit of independence. PM Modi highlighted efforts to reclaim the islands’ history by renaming them and honoring war heroes, emphasizing the need to preserve and celebrate India’s rich heritage.
