Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the United Arab Emirates to enhance the bilateral ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’. During the visit, PM Modi will meet the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss various bilateral issues, energy cooperation, and ways to strengthen relations.
The visit aims to advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations, which is supported by robust political, cultural, economic, and people-to-people ties. It will also focus on promoting trade and investment connections between India and the UAE.
Energy security will be a key agenda during the visit, with the potential signing of significant MoUs related to LPG and strategic petroleum reserves. The UAE stands as India’s third-largest trade partner and seventh-largest source of investment over the past 25 years, with a substantial Indian community of over 4.5 million residing in the UAE.
The Prime Minister’s visit will span six days, including stops in the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy. In the Netherlands, PM Modi will engage with Dutch leaders and discuss various aspects of bilateral cooperation. Subsequently, he will travel to Sweden to hold talks with Swedish officials and explore avenues for enhancing trade relations.
In Norway, PM Modi will participate in the 3rd India-Nordic Summit and engage in bilateral discussions. The final leg of the visit will take him to Italy, where he is scheduled to meet with Italian leaders to strengthen ties and discuss mutual interests.
