Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Somnath Temple in Gujarat as a timeless symbol of divine presence, guiding generations. He is in Gujarat for the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, marking 1000 years since the first recorded attack on the temple in 1026.
PM Modi highlighted the temple’s significance, calling it a beacon of eternal divinity that continues to inspire people. He participated in various events, such as Omkar Mantra chanting and a drone show, during the national commemoration.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to lead a ‘Shaurya Yatra’ from Somnath and offer prayers at the temple. He will address a public event at Sadbhavna Maidan and later travel to Rajkot for the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference.
PM Modi will inaugurate trade shows and conferences in Rajkot, emphasizing the temple’s role in India’s history and resilience against invasions. The event also marks 75 years since the temple’s modern reconstruction in 1951.
