The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is relocating from the British-era building in South Block to the new ‘Seva Teerth’ at Kartavya Path on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Seva Teerth complex along with Kartavya Bhavan-1 & 2. This move signifies a significant shift in India’s administrative governance structure.
The Seva Teerth will house the PMO, the National Security Council Secretariat, and the Cabinet Secretariat. Additionally, Kartavya Bhavan-1 & 2 will accommodate key ministries like Finance, Defence, Health & Family Welfare, and Education. PM Modi is scheduled to unveil the building’s name at 1.30 p.m. and address a public program at around 6 p.m.
The new complexes reflect PM Modi’s vision for a modern, citizen-centric governance system. They are designed with digitally integrated offices, public interface zones, and centralized reception facilities. These features aim to enhance collaboration, governance efficiency, citizen engagement, and employee well-being.
In line with 4-Star GRIHA standards, the buildings incorporate renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, and waste management solutions. They also prioritize safety and security with smart access control systems, surveillance networks, and emergency response infrastructure. The state-of-the-art facilities in the Centra Vista area ensure a modern working environment.
