In East Delhi, the Police Station Madhu Vihar staff made a significant breakthrough by apprehending four individuals involved in an active snatching gang. The arrested suspects were engaged in various cases of mobile phone theft and snatching in the district. The police operation led to the recovery of two stolen mobile phones and a motorcycle used during the crimes.
The accused were captured near Ghazipur Gol Chakkar in the Khichripur area after continuous surveillance, technical investigation, and local intelligence gathering. Authorities highlighted that this successful operation underscores the ongoing efforts of the East District Police to combat street crime and ensure public safety.
Following a complaint lodged on May 15 at PS Madhu Vihar, where a mobile phone was snatched near Telco T-Point, an investigation was promptly initiated. An FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on the victim’s complaint. A specialized police team, led by SHO Rajesh Vijay Vargis and supervised by ACP Tilak Chandra Bisht, was formed to address the escalating street crime incidents in the area.
During the investigation, footage from approximately 100 CCTV cameras around the crime scene and nearby routes was scrutinized. Through continuous surveillance, local inquiries, and technical analysis, the movement patterns and identities of the suspects were established. Acting on a tip-off, a police raid near Ghazipur Gol Chakkar, Khichripur, resulted in the successful apprehension of all four accused individuals.
