President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent warm wishes to the people of Himachal Pradesh on their Statehood Day. Himachal Pradesh celebrates this day annually on January 25, marking its establishment as the 18th state of India in 1971. Initially a union territory in 1956, the state evolved to gain full autonomy by 1971.
President Murmu praised the state’s spiritual traditions and valour, referring to it as the “Devbhoomi” and “Land of the Brave.” She expressed confidence in the residents’ contributions to the nation and wished them a prosperous future. Prime Minister Modi also extended his wishes for a bright future for the people of Himachal Pradesh.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda, a native of Himachal Pradesh, joined in extending greetings to the state. Shah highlighted the state’s natural beauty and cultural pride, wishing for its continuous progress. Nadda acknowledged the state’s rich history and divine beauty, offering congratulations and best wishes for its ongoing prosperity.
