President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed their greetings to the people on Maharashtra Day, highlighting the state’s historical significance and contributions to India’s growth. President Murmu emphasized the inspiration drawn from Maharashtra’s luminaries like Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Savitribai Phule, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, while Prime Minister Modi praised the state’s cultural richness and leadership in various sectors.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Hardeep Singh Puri also extended warm wishes to the people of Maharashtra, acknowledging the state’s courage, cultural heritage, and spirit of progress. Maharashtra Day, commemorating the formation of the state in 1960, is marked by various celebrations, including a grand parade in Shivaji Park, Dadar, and a public holiday for all.
