Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy from May 15 to May 20, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs. In the UAE, PM Modi will meet with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss bilateral issues and energy cooperation, aiming to advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Moving on to the Netherlands, PM Modi will visit from May 15 to 17 at the invitation of Prime Minister Rob Jetten. He is scheduled to meet with King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, and hold discussions with Prime Minister Jetten, focusing on strengthening cooperation in various sectors such as defence, security, innovation, and green technologies.
Subsequently, PM Modi will travel to Gothenburg, Sweden, from May 17 to 18, at the invitation of Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. The visit aims to bolster bilateral relations and explore opportunities for collaboration in areas like green transition, Artificial Intelligence, start-ups, defence, and climate action.
Continuing his tour, PM Modi will head to Norway from May 18 to 19 for the third India-Nordic Summit and bilateral talks. This visit holds significance as it marks the first prime ministerial visit from India to Norway in over four decades, focusing on enhancing trade, research, and business ties between the two nations.
In the final leg of his trip, PM Modi will visit Italy from May 19 to 20 at the invitation of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. He is scheduled to meet with President Sergio Mattarella and hold discussions with Prime Minister Meloni, aiming to strengthen India’s partnership with Europe, particularly in trade and investment, following the recent India-European Union Free Trade Agreement.
