A professor at a private medical college near Bengaluru faced an alleged assault by students following his reported proposal to a female student during a lecture. The incident, which occurred in the Nelamangala Rural Police Station’s jurisdiction, has sparked a hunt for the accused after a video of the incident went viral, causing public concern.
During a class session, the professor reportedly offered a chocolate to a girl student and expressed his feelings openly. The situation turned tense when the student objected to his actions and ended up hitting him with her slipper. Subsequently, other students, upset by the professor’s behavior, pursued and assaulted him on campus, leading to his escape to avoid further harm.
In the classroom, the professor mentioned proposing to a “very important girl” from the batch and distributed chocolates, claiming his love for her. However, the girl student rejected his advances, urging him to address the matter with the college Principal. Despite the confrontation and challenges from the student, the professor insisted on discussing the issue the next day, while students were encouraged to take chocolates. Investigations are ongoing into the incident.
