Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated the state’s inaugural Startup Punjab Conclave at a private university in Kapurthala district. The event, organized by the Department of Industries and Commerce, served as a key platform to celebrate innovation, entrepreneurship, and the growing startup ecosystem in the state.
With a participation of over 100 startups, the conclave witnessed the distribution of seed grants, along with the gathering of industry leaders, investors, incubators, academic experts, and policymakers. The government emphasized its strong support for new business ideas, encouraging the youth to transition from job seekers to job creators.
Addressing the entrepreneurs, Chief Minister Mann highlighted the government’s aim to empower Punjab’s youth to establish themselves as job providers rather than job seekers. He emphasized the entrepreneurial spirit of Punjabis, stating that they excel in various endeavors due to their inherent engineering skills and entrepreneurial mindset.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s dedication to nurturing the aspirations of Punjabis, ensuring comprehensive support for innovative ideas. Under the theme of “update and create,” he assured that the government is ready to assist every business proposal with adequate funding and resources.
Reflecting on his visit to Japan, CM Mann emphasized the importance of a clear vision for progress. He praised Japan’s forward-thinking approach, citing the accessibility of various transportation modes through a unified platform. The event also highlighted the presence of over 15 incubators and five support organizations from Punjab, showcasing their initiatives to boost startup growth in the state.
