Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu commended young shuttler Devika Sihag for securing her first BWF Super 300 title at the Thailand Masters. Sindhu, who shares training space with Devika at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy in Bengaluru, expressed delight in witnessing the 20-year-old’s progress. She highlighted Devika’s dedication and growth, emphasizing discipline, hard work, and belief as key factors in her victory.
Devika Sihag, hailing from Haryana, became the third Indian woman to claim a super 300 women’s singles title, joining the ranks of PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal. Her triumph came as her opponent, Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei, retired during the final due to a hamstring injury. Sindhu praised Devika’s commitment both on and off the court, noting her collaboration with Sindhu’s team for strength and conditioning.
Sindhu lauded Devika’s consistent efforts, attributing her success to daily dedication and perseverance. She humorously teased another training partner, Isharani, to follow Devika’s lead, while expressing confidence in the growth of fellow shuttlers Ansh and Suryaksh. Sindhu shared her joy in witnessing the development of young talents and their inspiring journeys.
