The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is intensifying efforts to combat crime and prevent human trafficking. Recent operations by RPF personnel led to the recovery of narcotics, illicit liquor, stolen property, and apprehension of offenders. These actions aim to ensure a safe and secure railway network for passengers.
During a six-day period, RPF personnel conducted 36 successful operations, resulting in the recovery of marijuana, illicit liquor, mobile phones, railway tickets, and cash. Offenders involved in various crimes were apprehended, including those engaged in narcotics trafficking and ticket touting. Additionally, 17 individuals were rescued, with prompt medical assistance provided to an injured passenger.
The RPF’s commitment to safeguarding railway property was evident in an anti-encroachment drive at Safrai Railway Station, where 61 unauthorized structures were removed. This operation, conducted in coordination with law enforcement agencies, cleared nearly 5,600 square meters of railway land peacefully. The NFR remains dedicated to enhancing passenger safety through intelligence-based operations and collaboration with authorities.
Members of the public are urged to report any suspicious activities to ensure a secure railway environment. The NFR, headquartered near Guwahati, operates in the Northeastern states, seven districts of West Bengal, and five districts of Bihar.
