The Chief Minister addressed the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) in Jaipur, recognizing the institute’s evolution from a college in 1976 to a prominent Ayurveda university today. He commended the NIA’s national reputation and leadership built over 50 years, bringing pride to Rajasthan. Chief Minister Sharma lauded the institute’s excellence in education, training, research, and patient care.
Stressing the global significance of Ayurveda and Yoga in positioning India as a leader, Chief Minister Sharma praised the profound insights of Ayurveda in seasonal disease management. He highlighted the contributions of ancient scholars like Charaka, Sushruta, and Vagbhata in systematizing Ayurveda’s knowledge. The Chief Minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for revitalizing traditional medicine systems through initiatives like the Ministry of AYUSH.
Chief Minister Sharma outlined the advancements in Ayurvedic healthcare in Rajasthan, including the establishment of new hospitals, colleges, and dispensaries. He mentioned the expansion of medical facilities, increased seats for education, and enhanced research opportunities. The government’s efforts aim to integrate Ayurveda into the public health system through infrastructure development and educational enhancements.
Union Minister of State for AYUSH and Health and Family Welfare, Prataprao Jadhav, acknowledged the NIA’s 50-year legacy as a testament to generations of dedicated professionals preserving Ayurveda’s heritage. He underscored the role of Ayurveda and Yoga in managing lifestyle-related diseases, aligning with the government’s goal of promoting holistic well-being. Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa highlighted the Ayushman Adarsh Gram Yojana in Rajasthan, focusing on creating healthy villages through Ayurveda and Yoga.
