The Rajasthan Police are investigating an interstate fraud network following the arrest of three men at Jaipur International Airport. The individuals were caught trying to travel to Iraq using counterfeit tourist visas. Authorities recovered forged visas from the accused and are now delving into the larger network behind the production of fraudulent travel documents.
The arrested individuals, identified as Suresh Kumar, Alok Kumar Singh, and Rupesh Yadav, had planned to fly to Baghdad. Suspicion arose during routine document checks at the airport, prompting officials to question the authenticity of their visas. Subsequently, the accused admitted that their original multiple-entry Iraq visas were unusable, leading them to seek the help of a Jaipur-based agent named Mukesh Lakhar, who assured them of arranging tourist visas.
Upon arrival in Jaipur as per the agent’s instructions, the accused were provided with the fake visas and were coached on how to handle airport inquiries. They were advised to claim they were traveling to Baghdad due to a technical issue with a machine shipped from Jaipur. However, airport authorities became doubtful during the verification process, which led to the trio’s apprehension and subsequent arrest.
A case has been filed at the Airport Police Station under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused are undergoing thorough interrogation, and efforts are underway to uncover the wider network involved in the distribution of counterfeit visas and facilitation of illegal overseas journeys. The three suspects have been presented in court, and investigations are ongoing.
