Rajasthan’s Anjali Shekhawat secured the gold medal in the 10m air pistol women’s event at the 24th Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship in New Delhi. Shekhawat, who qualified fourth, scored 240.5 in the final to claim the top spot. Haryana’s Kanak Budhwar took silver with 238.7, while Punjab’s Agam Ranjit Kaur Grewal earned the bronze with 216.
The qualification round was led by Esha Singh of Telangana with a score of 582-20x, followed by Agam Ranjit Kaur Grewal and Muskan Chahal of Haryana. However, Esha Singh and Madhya Pradesh’s Mahima Turhi Agrawal did not participate in the final. Kanak qualified for the final in sixth place.
In the final standings, Railways’ Yuvika Tomar finished fourth, while Muskan Chahal and another Haryana shooter, Muskan, secured the fifth and sixth positions, respectively.
Kanak Budhwar also excelled in the 10m air pistol junior women category, winning the gold medal. She continued her success in the youth women’s event, clinching another gold. Haryana dominated the team event, with Priyanshi Purva, Navya, and Surbhi Rao securing the gold medal.
