Marking 90 years of service, dedication, and nation-building, Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Delhi Prant, held a dignified Sankalp Diwas program at Sir Shankar Lal Concert Hall in honor of founder Lakshmibai Kelkar. The event, themed around celebrating the organization’s nine-decade journey, emphasized Lakshmibai’s principles of national service, women’s empowerment, and social commitment. Various participants, including Sevikas, academicians, and social workers, reiterated their commitment to upholding the founder’s legacy of service and values.
The program featured a keynote address by Alka Inamdar, Akhil Bharatiya Sah-Karyavahika of Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, and was graced by National Commission for Women Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar as the Chief Guest. New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj presided over the event, which also saw the felicitation of nine distinguished women for their exceptional contributions to society and public service. During her speech, Vijaya Rahatkar highlighted the transformative power of women’s pledges on society and the nation, emphasizing the importance of women in shaping India’s future.
Mukul Kanitkar praised Indian women for their global leadership roles and expressed confidence in the upcoming era being dominated by women’s leadership. He emphasized the compatibility of modernity with India’s traditional values and stressed the significance of embodying the ideals of great personalities in daily life. Bansuri Swaraj, in her address, underscored the strength derived from understanding one’s cultural roots and identity, asserting that India’s civilizational values inherently uphold women’s dignity and strength.
Alka Inamdar, in her keynote, highlighted Rashtriya Sevika Samiti’s global prominence as the largest women’s organization with nearly 5,000 branches. She emphasized the role of women in nation-building, emphasizing their responsibility in nurturing values within families and contributing to societal and national progress. Encouraging women to uphold Indian values while actively engaging in all aspects of national life, she called for selfless service, social harmony, and dedication to nation-building in alignment with Vandaniya Mausiji’s ideals.
