Rayan Cherki scored a crucial 83rd-minute goal, leading Manchester City to a 2-1 victory against Nottingham Forest. The match saw Tijjani Reijnders opening the scoring for City three minutes into the second half with a well-executed finish. However, Forest quickly equalized through Omari Hutchinson, setting up a tense finale.

Cherki, who also assisted in Reijnders’ goal, sealed the win for City with a low volley in a crowded penalty area. This victory marked Manchester City’s eighth consecutive win, propelling them to 40 points from 18 matches in the Premier League standings. The game, initially goalless in the first half, witnessed a flurry of action in the second period.

The match was characterized by a lack of clear chances in the first half, with both teams struggling to break the deadlock. However, the intensity picked up after the break, with Cherki instrumental in City’s attacking moves. Despite Forest’s efforts to respond, City’s resilience and Cherki’s clinical finish proved decisive in securing the three points.

City’s dominance in possession was evident throughout the game, with several near misses and saves keeping the scoreline close. The festive fixture at the City Ground saw moments of excitement, with both teams showcasing their attacking prowess. Cherki’s late heroics ensured that Pep Guardiola’s side ended the year on a high note, maintaining their impressive winning streak.
