Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) decided to bowl after winning the toss against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 34 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. RCB opener Phil Salt was replaced by Jacob Bethell due to an injury. For GT, Jason Holder, Rahul Tewatia, and Manav Suthar came in for Prasidh Krishna, Glenn Philips, and Ashok Sharma.

RCB captain Rajat Patidar expressed the team’s preference to bowl first, emphasizing the advantage of chasing in understanding the pitch and setting a target. He mentioned the change in the playing eleven due to Salt’s injury, with Bethell stepping in.

GT captain Shubman Gill noted the trend of successful chases at the ground but highlighted the importance of quick assessment of conditions for a good start. Reflecting on their previous loss, Gill emphasized the need to focus on team strengths and back themselves.
