The mysterious death of Sadhvi Prem Baisa, a well-known Rajasthani storyteller and bhajan singer, has triggered widespread anger among her followers and has now reached the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Leaders from various political parties have called for a high-level investigation into the case, with assurances from the state government of a thorough probe. Leader of the Opposition Tikaram Jully and BJP MLA Balmukundacharya raised concerns in the Assembly, labeling the circumstances of Sadhvi’s death as suspicious.
They have urged the formation of a high-level committee to look into the matter and ensure transparency. Balmukundacharya emphasized Sadhvi Prem Baisa’s role in connecting people with Sanatan Dharma and stressed the need to address the doubts raised by devotees. Tikaram Jully highlighted the shock felt by devotees statewide over her sudden passing and emphasized the importance of a fair and impartial investigation to restore public trust.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Home Affairs Jawahar Singh Bedham mentioned that the police are investigating the case comprehensively, considering various angles. The family claims the death resulted from a wrong injection, while the hospital administration asserts that Sadhvi was brought in dead. The minister acknowledged the widespread discussion on social media and stated that the post-mortem report will reveal the complete facts to the public.
Sadhvi Prem Baisa was laid to rest with full religious rites at her ancestral village, Pareu, and her mortal remains were interred at the Shiv Shakti Dham Ashram. Thousands of devotees and religious leaders attended the funeral, with Mewar Mahamandaleshwar Ishwariya Nandgiri describing her as the “daughter of the entire Sanatan Dharma.” He has called for a detailed investigation into the alleged injection-related death claim.
Sadhvi’s father, Viramnath, has demanded justice, alleging that his daughter died due to a wrong injection. He expressed willingness to cooperate fully with the authorities and undergo any necessary procedures. Born in Pareu, Sadhvi Prem Baisa, who lost her mother at a young age, gained popularity through her bhajans and Bhagwat Katha discourses, both in India and abroad.
