Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Smriti Mandhana acknowledged the team’s seven-wicket defeat to Delhi Capitals in the 2026 Women’s Premier League (WPL) but highlighted the importance of learning from setbacks before the playoffs. Mandhana emphasized the need to focus on the positives and improve based on the lessons learned from the match.

Reflecting on the match conditions in Vadodara, Mandhana noted the changing nature of the wicket, describing it as spongy compared to previous games. Despite the challenges faced, she commended the bowlers for their resilience and highlighted areas for improvement in fielding and batting strategies.

Mandhana expressed disappointment in her team’s fielding performance, emphasizing the need to address the shortcomings collectively. She stressed the team’s commitment to hard work and improvement, aiming to deliver a stronger fielding display in the upcoming matches.

Praising the bowlers for their efforts in defending a low total, Mandhana encouraged a positive mindset and acknowledged the tough conditions faced during the game. She commended the bowlers’ intent and determination to secure a victory, highlighting the importance of a proactive approach in challenging situations.

Mandhana concluded by lauding the performance of the new-ball pair, Lauren Bell and Sayali Satghare, recognizing their contributions in the Power-play. She expressed confidence in the team’s ability to progress and highlighted areas for enhancement to capitalize on future opportunities.
