Actor Ryan Gosling, set to star in ‘Project Hail Mary’, received the film’s manuscript at the pandemic’s onset when global productions halted. Author Andy Weir, known for ‘The Martian’, offered Gosling the lead role and a producer position. Gosling, captivated by the story’s depth, found resonance with the turbulent times.
Gosling, after a single reading, admired the character’s humanity and the narrative’s grandeur. Despite closed theaters, he embraced the project’s profound relevance. The film, adapted from Weir’s bestseller, follows an amnesiac astronaut as Earth’s potential savior.
The movie, helmed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, promises a mix of science, emotion, and spectacle. Alongside Gosling, the cast includes Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, and Milana Vayntrub. ‘Project Hail Mary’, presented by Amazon MGM Studios, will hit Indian screens on March 26 in multiple languages.
