Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, campaigning for Congress in West Bengal’s Berhampore, expressed concern over the ongoing conflict between the Mamata Banerjee government and the BJP-led Centre, stating it has adversely affected the state’s residents. Pilot highlighted the need for change and expressed optimism about the Congress party’s performance in the region.
Pilot mentioned that the presence of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge in West Bengal has motivated party workers for the upcoming Assembly polls. He emphasized the importance of the Congress party’s participation, aiming to secure victory and bring positive changes to the state. Pilot also criticized the damage caused by the conflict between the state and the Centre, impacting Bengal’s development and welfare.
During a road show with Congress candidate Adhir Chowdhury, Pilot addressed the BJP’s recent actions, particularly regarding the Delimitation Bill. He highlighted the Congress party’s decision to contest independently in this election after ending its alliance with the Left Front, aiming to secure a stronger position. The upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections are scheduled in two phases on April 23 and 29, with results to be announced on May 4.
