Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia has urged the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to investigate Punjab Aam Aadmi Party legislator Ashok Kumar Pappi Prashar for alleged corruption, including money laundering through his personal assistant’s account. Majithia revealed that Prashar used his assistant as a front to collect Rs 1.10 crore from individuals promised jobs in the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation.
Highlighting further irregularities, Majithia stated that Prashar had money deposited in his assistant’s account and then withdrawn by family members. In one instance, Rs 90 lakh was deposited into the assistant’s account from Canada, with subsequent transfers to Prashar’s wife and son. Majithia also exposed a case where a building inspector deposited Rs 30 lakh into the assistant’s account, following which funds were transferred to Prashar and his son.
Majithia disclosed that Prashar had recommended revoking a transfer order for the building inspector, showcasing their close ties. The SAD leader emphasized the need for a CBI probe, alleging that the current police raids on the assistant’s house indicate a lack of justice. Nikhil Sabharwal, the assistant, shared his ordeal, stating that he was coerced into collecting money from job seekers and faced threats when they did not secure jobs.
