Actress Sameera Reddy has revealed a nutritious recipe for banana stem and dal curry, emphasizing its benefits for gut health. To prepare this dish, you will need ingredients like banana stem, dal, curry leaves, turmeric, mustard seeds, ghee, coconut, green chilli, Kashmiri chilli, jeera, and salt. Start by pressure cooking the banana stem and dal with turmeric and salt until tender, then grind coconut, green chilli, and jeera into a paste. In a separate pan, temper mustard seeds, Kashmiri chilli, and curry leaves in ghee, and mix with the cooked ingredients along with the coconut paste. Boil the mixture for a few minutes.

Sameera highlighted the advantages of this curry, mentioning its richness in fiber and iron, support for hormonal balance, benefits for gut health and detox, reduction of bloating and water retention, aid in weight management, support for menstrual health, regulation of blood sugar, and promotion of a calm mood and digestion. She also advised removing fibrous strings from the banana stem after cooking to ensure the curry remains light, smooth, and gut-friendly.
