Sanju Samson’s explosive 89, supported by contributions from Ishan Kishan and Shivam Dube, propelled India to a commanding total of 253/7 in 20 overs against England in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Semifinal at Wankhede Stadium. Samson, who recently scored an unbeaten 97 against the West Indies, showcased remarkable power-hitting by smashing 7 sixes in his 42-ball innings.

Ishan Kishan added 39 runs off 18 balls, while Dube scored a quick 43 off 25 deliveries. Despite a strong start, England managed to rein in the Indian batsmen towards the end of the innings with some crucial wickets. Samson’s aggressive approach saw him hitting boundaries all around the ground, including eight fours and seven sixes, displaying a wide array of shots.

England, after winning the toss, put India to bat first. Samson’s explosive start, including a flurry of boundaries, set the tone for India’s innings. Despite losing a few wickets towards the end, India posted a challenging total, with contributions from various batsmen. Samson’s innings, filled with powerful strokes, was a standout performance that laid the foundation for India’s imposing score.

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya’s quick cameos, along with late contributions from others, helped India reach a formidable total that will pose a significant challenge for England in their chase.
