In Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), school children, along with teachers and parents, gathered at Rawalakot’s Eidgah Ground to denounce the Pakistani military’s harsh actions in the region. Despite warnings from authorities, students displayed banners asking for international media coverage and criticized the Pakistani Army for its actions. The protests challenging Islamabad’s control have led to a severe crackdown by Pakistani forces, resulting in casualties and a communication blackout.
The United Kashmir People’s National Party (UKPNP) organized a conference in PoK to address human rights violations and the crackdown by Pakistani authorities. Participants demanded an end to the use of force, arbitrary arrests, and enforced disappearances, along with the restoration of essential services in the region. The UKPNP also called for the withdrawal of security forces from hospitals and safe medical access for the people in PoK.
The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) in PoK announced plans for a protest march towards Muzaffarabad, urging widespread participation. Tensions escalated as reports emerged of more casualties due to firing by Pakistani forces. The JAAC condemned the killings, holding the Pakistani forces and Muzaffarabad rulers responsible, vowing to seek justice for the deceased.
