Senior Congress leader N. Subramanian was briefly detained by Chevayur police in Kerala over a social media post featuring a distorted image of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The image allegedly showed the Chief Minister alongside a key suspect in a gold heist case.

Subramanian faced questioning and had his mobile phone seized for forensic examination following the interrogation. Despite being released, he was served a notice to cooperate with the investigation whenever required.

The incident led to a gathering of party workers at the police station, protesting against Vijayan. The case, triggered by allegations of AI-generated misinformation, remains under investigation with potential further action pending digital analysis results.
