Seven individuals were apprehended following the discovery of cattle remains discarded in Badiyatula village under Mundwara Gram Panchayat. The incident, which occurred late on Friday night, led to heightened tensions and a significant police presence in the area. The remains, including cow heads and legs in polythene bags, were found along a roadside in the predominantly Muslim settlement.

As news of the incident spread, youths from neighboring Sihada village hurried to the scene, escalating the situation. Some vehicles were reportedly damaged during the unrest before law enforcement intervened to restore order. Khandwa Superintendent of Police Agam Jain confirmed the registration of an FIR under the Madhya Pradesh Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act, initiated after veterinary doctors verified the remains as those of cattle.

An FIR has been lodged under the Madhya Pradesh Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act, and prompt legal action has been taken, resulting in the arrest of seven suspects within a day. Police also seized cattle meat and a motorcycle believed to be linked to the accused at the site of the incident. To ensure public safety and prevent further disturbances, a substantial police contingent has been stationed in the area.

The arrested individuals are currently undergoing interrogation, with necessary legal procedures being carried out. Authorities suspect the accused were engaged in slaughtering the animals, consuming the meat, and disposing of the remains. Additional arrests are anticipated as the investigation progresses, with security forces maintaining a presence in the region as a precautionary measure.

Hemant Chauhan, representing Sihada village’s sarpanch, reported receiving information late on Friday night about the alleged cow slaughter. Villagers observed several individuals fleeing on a motorcycle with bags containing animal remains. Police indicated that more suspects may be apprehended as the inquiry advances, emphasizing the importance of remaining vigilant against misinformation and preserving peace.

Law enforcement has urged the public to disregard unverified details and assured strict repercussions for any involvement in such activities in the future.
