Veteran actress Shabana Azmi recently posted a video showing her husband, writer Javed Akhtar, busy at work in his study. The clip revealed Javed writing in Urdu, using a pen and paper in a traditional manner, which stood out in today’s digital age.
In the video shared on social media, Shabana showcased a panoramic view of Javed’s study, captioning it as “The writer in his study.” The room was filled with numerous books and offered a serene view from the door.
Javed Akhtar, born in 1945 in Gwalior, hails from a family of writers. His father, Jan Nisar Akhtar, was a renowned songwriter and Urdu poet. Additionally, his paternal grandfather and great-uncle were also notable writers.
Having spent his early years in Lucknow, Javed later graduated from Saifiya College in Bhopal. Known for his collaboration with Salim Khan as the acclaimed writer duo Salim-Javed, they delivered several iconic projects in Indian cinema history.
