The renowned playback singer Shreya Ghoshal, a five-time National Award winner, recently unveiled the live album of her All Hearts Tour. Speaking about her singing technique, Ghoshal mentioned her reliance on visualisation. She explained that she possesses a photographic memory, which aids her performances both in the studio and on stage.
During an interview, Ghoshal revealed, “Everything for me is photographic memory or photographic references. I use that a lot. For me every song becomes a painting. Every song has a color. I see a face in a certain way. It’s a picture.” She elaborated on her process of associating colors with different elements of a song, such as verses having hints of yellow or blue.
Ghoshal emphasized the importance of visualisation in her singing, stating, “In my mind, I don’t even know who the actor is. But in my mind, I visualise it. So that kind of translates when I am singing live also. So that expression comes on my face or it comes in my singing.” She expressed her belief in the divine nature of music, calling it a craft and art bestowed by God that can manifest in various styles.
The live album of her ‘All Hearts Tour’ has been released by Sony Music India, marking another milestone in Ghoshal’s illustrious career.
