Shreyas Iyer has been named the official brand ambassador for a Formula 1-supported sim racing project in India by Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited. This initiative, known as the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026, aims to establish a structured platform for emerging esports racing talent nationwide. It signifies a significant move towards blending motorsport and esports within India’s sports landscape.
Iyer, recognized for his consistent performances in cricket, has a strong appeal to younger audiences beyond the cricket field. This quality makes him a strategic choice to represent the program and its goal of engaging a new generation of athletes. He expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This is the kind of initiative I would have wanted access to growing up, and I’m proud to be part of what’s coming.”
The championship will take place on F1 25, the official game of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, replicating real-world circuits, formats, and team environments to provide an authentic racing experience. Ameet Gadhoke, the Managing Director of Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited, highlighted that the project aims to bridge structural gaps in India’s sporting ecosystem and unleash untapped potential.
